Cannabis is a dioeciously plant (i.e. an individual cannabis plant is either gentleman or female). Whilst both create good excellence fibre it is the females that are the best producers of the cannabinoids, the psychoactive compounds present in the plant, the most important of which is delta-l-tetrahydrocannabinol, most normally referred to in its shortened form, THC. Of the three cannabis species, C. sativa has a figure of strains sought out by smokers, such as Acapulco gold and Durban Poison. C. indica is said to be the majority potent psychoactive species whilst C. ruderalis comes in a poor third.
Cannabis is a general term used to denote the more than a few psychoactive arrangements of the plant Cannabis sativa. The chief psychoactive consituent in cannabis is ∆-9 tetahydrocannabinol (THC). Compounds which are structurally alike to THC are referred to as cannabinoids. In addition, a number of lately identified compounds that are different structurally from cannabinoids yet share many of their pharmacological properties. The Mexican term 'marijuana' is regularly used in referring to cannabis leaves or other crude plant fabric in many countries. The unpollinated female plants are called hashish. Cannabis oil (hashish oil) is a focus of cannabinoids obtained by solvent removal of the basic plant fabric or of the resin.
